Some pictures while in Loreto, Mexico

Having dinner at Chili Willie's on the Sea of Cortez our first night. Watched pelicans and the sun set over Carmen Island.

Browsing on the cobblestoned lane of little shops full of hammocks, pottery, leather goods, and trinkets.

Butch in front of bougainvillea.

Walking the raised seawall for a couple miles allows you to see the variety of houses and small marinas. Loreto is a mix of clean, poorly constructed little buildings with a cheerful, safe feeling to it. It still seems like authentic Mexico but quickly assimilating to serve the visiting gringo. Everything is almost U.S. prices, t-shirts $18, hotel $60, one-day whale tour $100, pizza $25, coffee $1. The only thing a little cheaper was lobster dinner for $13.

Here's our hotel right on main street. It was an adventure all by itself. No electric outlets in the bathroom, rock-hard bed, and off-and-on hot water. Check out the view from our window!

View from the rooftop restaurant Las Flores. This hotel and restaurant is very beautiful and shouldn't be missed.
